Portrait of Filipa Taborda

About · Lisbon, Portugal

Architect, designer and writer.

My work moves between architecture, interiors, objects and words, different ways of exploring how we inhabit places, how we remember them, and how what surrounds us shapes our experience of everyday life.

I trained as an architect and have spent more than a decade working between architecture and interiors, from the first idea to the detail of a space, a piece of furniture or an object.

Alongside that practice, writing has always been part of how I look at the world and make sense of it. My texts and my poetry return often to the same subjects as the design work: cities and landscapes, houses and objects, beauty, memory, time, and the invisible relationships we form with places.

The work gathered here brings these strands together, architecture and interiors, objects and product design, published writing and poetry, as parts of one continuing practice.

A house and a poem begin the same way: by looking and by feeling.
